Senior Design Engineer (Hydraulics)

Reports to

Engineering Manager

Job Grade: 09E (Hydrolink jobs are graded from 1 to 13 with higher numbers representing more senior positions.)

Base Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Summary:

Responsible to manage Engineering/Design (Hydraulics) in ensuring all hydraulics engineering needs of an organization are met by offering on time engineering design services and suport. Contribution towards achieving the business plans in terms of Hydraulic Products and Applications.

2.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Identify customer/project requirements and offer Hydrolink scope of Engineering Design.

Generate conceptual design in response to customer enquiries.

Develop final design to meet customer order requirements.

Perform design calculations and technical analyses.

Generate detail design drawings and bills of material for the job/project.

Prepare work instructions for manufacture/service.

Prepare procedures for in house and witnessed testing.

Liaise with customers and other departments on technical issues.

Ensure timely resolution of all technical problems.

Monitor progress from receipt of order to despatch.

Log appropriate information in ERP system.

Carry out on site investigations and report findings.

Preparation of scope of work, specification and designing the project

Ensure high level of customer satisfaction through effective customer service, technical assistance & prompt after sales service.

Establish and maintain appropriate systems, processes to monitor and measure the operational effectiveness.

Ensure compliance with all applicable standards.

Ensure processes and practices are benchmarked with international standards/regulations/codes.

Other duties associated with successful development of Hydrolink Engineering/Design.

Competencies:

To be successful the employee should be able to demonstrate the following skills:

Extensive knowledge of Hydraulic Products and Services related to Oil & Gas and Marine sectors.

Track record of success in designing Hydraulic Systems & Applications such as Power Packs, Skidding Systems, Spooler Systems, Flushing Rigs, Test Benches related to Oil & Gas, Marine and Drilling sectors.

Extensive knowledge on Engineering Design & Production particularly skid mounted packages for Offshore and Oil & Gas markets.

Ability to prepare design calculation, generate BOM and Cost Sheet.

Knowledge of international standards relevant to all aspects of Hydraulics Engineering Design.

Commitment to continuous improvement in Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment (QHSE).

Sound knowledge on latest technologies on Computer Aided Designing tools with excellent grasp of operational issues.

Knowledge of a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and software tool packages.

Ability to learn and support new applications and systems.

Ability to generate and document processes and procedures.

Position Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Technical Graduate calibre intellect with minimum 6 years experience.

Mathematics:

Strong educational background in Mathematics and Applied Engineering IT Skills: Computer literate with experience of business productivity tools such as MS Office and OpenOffice

Supervisory Requirements:

Superior level skills in man management.

Communication:

Advanced communication skills, able to control conversations and create high standard reports.

Adaptability & Reasoning:

Ability to resolve common problems and concerns of customers in a professional manner.

Certificates:

Engineering Degree or equivalent

Health:

Must be in good health and pass U.A.E. Government fitness test.
